                           <description><![CDATA[The plans for the new Forth Road Bridge have yet again come under turmoil as it emerged that Edinburgh City Council have requested that the Scottish Government should not commit to the Bridge until 2011/12. However it was hoped that work would start in 2011 in order for the bridge to open in 2016. Edinburgh Council, like Fife, is an SNP / Lib Dem coalition, however the two seem to be competing for the funds. Local Labour candidate Thomas Docherty has today (Thursday 7 August
2008) written to Network Rail seeking answers as to why the
Fife Circle services were suspended this morning.
 

Thomas wrote; "Like hundreds of other passengers I was left waiting this morning
at West Fife train stations, with little or no information as to
reasons for the cancellations. In addition there were no
tannoy announcements to explain either the reasons for the
cancellations or how long the service will be out of
action.
 

Obviously I am aware of the level of investment that was made in

£100 to households with someone aged 80 or over and £50 to
